1989 dodge aries stearing collumn tilt wheel

We have a 1998 dodge aries and it has a tilt steering wheel. the other day my wife noticed the the stering wheel now move up and down about a half inch while its supose to be locked in one position. Is this something i can fix by taking the stearing collumn apart and tightening up a bolt or something like that or is it more involed??? Thanking anyone in advance for reading this post and giving any advice.. John

I haven't ran into this on the Dodges but GM's were common for this. 4 bolts at the base would come loose and need to be retightened. The column would need to be disassembled. I'm not sure of your experience level. This isn't the hardest job to do but does require a few special tools to do it........
