Okay: Vehicle is a 1990 Nissan pickup, 4 cylinder. It has been in my driveway for 5 years of which the last time I started it up was 3 years ago. I finally decided to try again. Replaced the battery. It turns over but just won't catch. I put in a gallon of gas as it was pretty low when I parked it so I know it isn't out of gas. Nothing has leaked out either.

If a solution is to do something with the carburator, is there a link someone can provide to help me find where it is in the engine? As you have figured out by that question, I know nothing about cars. Be gentle, please. I respect all you people who know mechanics more than you can imagine.

Thank you.

Paul

Gas that has been sitting there fore 3 years is going to be almost pure varnish by now. Not only are you going to have to drain every drop of gas but also replace the fuel filter. You don't have a carburator because it's fuel injected but you could have some issues with the fuel injecters being gummed up too.
