This is my first time driving the car and i filled up the tank for the first time today. my dad noticed the fuel was leaking pretty badly. i ignored him and drove it home and and it was leaking worse. i drove it around a little more and it stopped leaking but i was worried at this point. so i took it to a local shop and he checked it out. its leaking at the gas tank seam and according to him its a common issue on old bonnevilles. he said if i keep the gas under the seam then it will be fine and no danger. My only other option really is to buy a NEW tank because if i get one from the junkyard it will likely have the same problem. Really just looking for more input because i dont want my car to catch on fire while im driving it and i want to know that its safe. Please just post what u think i should/can do. Thanks!
