Robert; Is this an automatic or standard transmission? If standard, clutch pedal must be depressed before starter will engage. Could be the clutch switch. Should check to see if you are getting voltage to the solenoid when the ignition is in the 'crank' mode. Will take a helper and a test light (or voltmeter). You'll see a large guage wire (coming from the battery) connected to the solenoid. It should have 12V all of the time. The smaller, 12 or 14ga. 'exciter' wire should only be energized (12V) when in the crank mode. The large top post is where the battery cable connects. The small wire, coming off of the solenoid is the 'exciter' wire.
