HI all, new here, I have a 1993 UMC aeromate food truck, before I put thousands into the head gaskets etc, I would like to find out how long the average rear axle lasts, our truck has 170k miles? Finding parts for our truck is almost impossible as they haven't made any for almost 20 years. Also, it is possible to custom make a rear axle? and if so, does anyone know ABOUT how much that would run with labor? ANY info would be appreciated!! Thanks.

You are already on borrowed time on that.

Do you mean with the whole truck or the axle?

The axle and anything else that is still original.

Did you find out information on the rear axle? I have manual with part numbers for crossover to chrysler numbers . So far I have been able to find all parts except for axle.
