Hi, I was driving my blazer the other day and the timing chain broke. A lot of people have told me that it will need new heads cause it bent the valves. My question is what do you think? I was going about 40 to 50 mph went it broke and it has the 4.3 Vortec engine. Thanks and I'm very grateful.

The manufacturers don't publish any info about that on the chain engines. All you can do is a leakdown test to find out if it's OK. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
