1994 Plymouth Sundance - help Sign In

Hi there,
I own the car stated in the topic..
a 1994 Plymouth Sundance, 107000km on it, 4 cylinder (not entirely sure of how many litres)
My issue is likely not specific to the car, but as the only thing I really know is how to change my oil, seems I'm in need of some expertise.

When I got the car I knew the fuel tank indicator was off. I was told this when I got it.. fine. So I decided to run it to completely empty, while watching the trip odometre to get a solid idea of how far I'd get on a tank.
Eventually it was empty, parked at the house, not going anywhere. Other expenses came up and car stayed parked there for 4-5 months.

Now that I want it back on the road, it won't start.
I've put about 5 gallons of gas in it (learning today that leaving it empty was a bad idea)
I've also added a dose of fuel line defrosting stuff.
Turn the key, it cranks, but doesn't start. Everything seems normal.. except for the part where it doesn't start.
I'm leaving it plugged in overnight (it's really cold today) and willt ry it in the morning.

Any tips for reviving a car that's been sitting with an empty gas tank for 4-5 months? Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks

It was probably so dry of fuel that the lines are full of air. If you can hear the fuel pump buzz when key is turned to just "run" position then you may be just fine. I'd try either bleeding air out at fuel rail or spray some starting fluid in throttle body (re-assemble air cleaner) and it might fire up an quit but then work the next try. Just don't burn up the starter with futile tries if no response,

Awesome thanks.
I came here to avoid making the starter fail heh. Thanks again for the input.

if there is a shrader valve in the fuel rail just bleed the system there it will look like your tire inflation valves cap and all . if you do not here your pump kick on have someone stand by tank area with gas cap off and listen for the buzz when you put the key forward . if no noise try whacking the gas tank with a mallet around the center area . may just be siezed up like old carburators when left without fuel .
