1996 Chevy Lumina Sedan Stop Lights not working 3rd stop light IS working Bulbs & fuse good (checked for continuity) Tail lights & turn signals work (same bulb, different filament) Checked for continuity in bulb socket - Good Get 12V for tail lights when turned on. Do not get 12V for brake lights when pedal depressed. Could the pedal switch be bad even though 3rd stop light works? HELP! KAM

This is actually quite common. You have a bad combination switch in the steering column. It houses the turn signal switch and the 2 lower brake lights only go through it so the turn signals can cancel the brake lights when necessary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
