1998 ford exporer, front axle housing. need to change fluid. seems the drain, on the drivers side of housing at bottom and need to confirm that. very tight and don't want to break it. Is the drain on that side and seems to be inside of some kind of brace? thanks

You have the right place. You need to have a syringe and hose to get the old fluid out. The torque on that plug is about 45 pounds, but if it has been in there for awhile, the torque is multiplied by rust. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
