I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer with a 4.3 motor automatic 4 wheel drive, My problem is that my fuel pump has started to make a thumping noise when I shut the car off or come to a stop quick. Sometimes it even makes a chattering sound. It seems to start and run fine but this noise is concerning to me as I don't no if the fuel pump is going bad or if something else could be the problem. I sure don't want to go thru the trouble of dropping the fuel tank if it may be something else causing this problem. When it thumps or chatters it seems to stop after a few seconds. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or am I just the lucky one. Thanks for what ever input you have and gave a good day

They do have a lot of problems with the pumps in that truck. Usually it's more of a growling noise but anything is possible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
