1999 Ford Contour won't start. When the key is turned the dash lights come on as normal but nothing happens, no clicking.

It was running the day before fine, got in to leave and nothing. Is it the starter possibly or could it be an ignition problem?

You want to start off with having the battery tested. The lights coming on doesn't mean there is enough power to crank the engine over. The starter requires the most power out of anything on the car, the lights require the least amount

Thank you! A battery is cheaper than a new starter! I will check into that tomorrow!
