Here's the details on my jeep :

1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo
6 Cylinder 4WD
186K miles

This _just_ started today out of nowhere. I was on the freeway and sitting in traffic. The jeep usually sits around 210 degrees. After about 2 minutes of sitting there, it rose to about 225. I immediately got off the freeway and pulled into a convenient store. It's been leaking water (I'm pretty sure just out of the reservior) for a while, but not overheating - of course, the weather just started heating up too.

Anyway, I put maybe a liter of water in the reservoir and got back on the road. If I kept moving, it would stay at just over 210. When I got stuck at a light, it would start going up. Not really fast, but going up steadily.

When I got home I left it running and did check that the fan was moving and it was.

Where should I start?

Thanks in advance - Adam

And yet you continue to drive it that way..............

Have it pressure tested and find and repair the leaks before you end up buying an engine. Filling the reservoir does not usually fill the engine unless it's a pressurized tank.
