Hello, I smell gas fumes now and then coming from the drivers side when I opened the hood. I changed the charcoal canister (fuel filter) and checked the fuel lines under the car. I seen no leaks and the fresh gas fumes still comes and goes. I also checked the fuel pressure regulator to check for defective diaphram, but didnt smell any fuel from that vacuum line. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks

You have a leak somewhere but is will only show up when the engine is running and the lines are pressurized. It evaporates quickly.

I had the car running and went underneath and looked in the hood and noticed no fuel leak, or strong smell fuel presence. The onle time was when I cut the vechicle off and the gas fumes were coming from the area near the drivers side strut, near the filter, but it does it once in a while. Could it be a canister purge valve? Thanks for feedback really appreciate it.

Normally if you have an Evap problem it will set a P044x code..... Maybe get the codes pulled to be sure....
