I have a 2000 Blazer that is not running due to a defective fuel pump. Can I replace the fuel pump with an inline universal electric pump. If so will I still have to remove the inline pump. I do not have the resources to remove the tank at this time so will this be a temporary alternative.

I don't think so. The pressure required would have to be 55psi and higher or else the engine won't run. Another problem is that the non running fuel pump will act as a restriction causing low fuel volume. The best way is to drain and drop the tank to replace the pump module. You should also wash the tank out, so your new pump has a long service life. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
