2000 elantra problem

2000 elantra problem Sign In

Alright, i replaced the axle and wheel bearing on my wifes 2000 hyundai elantra, once it was back together i got in, started it up, and it didnt move, but it will move if you give it really give it some gas, but then it sounds awful. What is going wrong? Any help would be great

Do you have CV axle pushed all the way in on the trans side?.. is it binding possibly wrong axle

What type of noise grinding, snaping??

i would say it has to be in all the way just because everything else went back on, but its a grinding sound. one of my buddies told me the brakes are probably locked up, but im not convinced thats it

just because it fits in dosen't mean its fully engaged its a plunging joint there is plenty of play.. since it's grinding too that would indicate its not fully engaged..
