I have tried everything and when i was exiting off the freeway it just shut down, i think it might be a valve problem or something else, any ideas. what would shut down the engine

This could be lots of things. How are you certain it's not a fuel problem? Was there a noise? Does it sound funny cranking it even though it doesn't run? Does it have spark? More info would help,

I hear the fuel pump working and there is spark, it turns over just like it going to start but seems to not be getting gas, when i pushed on the valve to let the air out it just trickes out not sprayed out.

If you are talking about the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail and it just dribbles, I would install a gauge and test pressures. Sounds like the pump is running, but not capable of proving enough pressure to make the motor run. Let us know what you find. Your pressures should be around 52 to 59 psi.

My friend came over and treated it like it was vapor lock and it stated right up ,but it shifts really hard now and the check engine light is on now. i went to buy a pressure regulator and have not installed it yet, why do you think it is shifting hard
