I have a 2001 Pontiac Aztek, 3.4 V-6, that started overheating on the freeway a few nights ago. I think it is the thermostat but it looks complicated to replace. Any easy way to do this??

Assuming that you aren't losing coolant, and the system is full, you are probably right. If the cooling system goes from cold to hot in just a few minutes, it could be the thermostat or exhaust gasses getting into the system. The Mitchell labor guide shows 3.1-3.5 hrs. to replace the thermostat, so it's not an easy one. Loren SW Washington
