2001 Concorde Electrical Issue Sign In

I have a 2001 Chrysler Concorde LX. It has a 2.7L engine with about 75,000 miles. As I was driving home at night I opened my window. I noticed that it was running a little slower than normal. I only opened it a few inches. After that the battery light came on. The further I got I noticed that my lights were getting dimmer. After I tried to turn my heat on my radio was going out so I turned off the heat and the radio. When I was about 5 miles from home the transmission wouldn't shift out of either 1st or 2nd, I'm not sure which. I was driving around 30 MPH and the tach was around 3000 RPM. So I proceeded to make it the rest of the way home but before I made it there my check engine light came on. It just happened last night so when I get home today I'm going to check the battery and make sure that it's not going out. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That is all the symptoms of your battery not charging by the alternator. I'd 1st check that the belt is in fact tight enough to turn it then on to charging by charger and testing the battery and connections to it, alternator and look for any wrinkled wire (fusible link) involved going to alternator,
