My father knew a lot about cars and trucks, but he passed away recently. I never learned. Hell, I never learned how to drive. I'm trying to learn to drive now, but things aren't easy. I bought the best used car I could afford, a 2001 Ford Focus SE. When I bought the car a few days ago, my relatives drove it and they said it was a good car. I know the model has some problems, but the car only had one previous owner and it was kept in good shape. However, when I took it to a parking lot today in order to become more familiar with the vehicle and learn how to drive it, something went amiss. It's not the first car I've driven around, and I drove it around for a while. At first, it seemed fine, but after a half-hour the pedal felt like it had resistance and I needed to push the pedal harder in order to get the car to respond. Then, when the car was parked, it refused to start. We called my uncle to come take a look at it. We tried to start the engine six-or-seven times, waiting a few minutes each time. It didn't work, but then, shortly before he arrived, we tried again and it started up just fine. My uncle drove the car for a little bit when he arrived and he said the engine had hesitation. I think that explain the pedal thing I mentioned, but would it also explain why the car refused to start? What might be wrong with it? Why did it only start after the car warmed up and was driving for a while?

How much do you know about repairing vehicles? Really don't want to go on a long speel about how you should check this and that if you have never wrenched on an engine before or worked with test equipment to troubleshoot engine or electrical problems. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
