2001 blazier timing Sign In

Pirate2001 blazier 4.3 zr2 i changed the intake manifold gasket on this motor my boy pulled the distributor before i could mark it. then the motor got turned over before i got done . i bought a book it says pull number one spark plug turn to compression and continue to turn to mark on front pulley .i dont see a 0 degrees all i see is two lines and there about 4 inches apart .the distributer dosent turn goes in only one way because of the hold down. book says line up rotor with number 6 on the distributer. did all that am i missing something

This may help.



#1 & 2 and #3 & 4 of diagram must be aligned; with #1 cylinder at TDC of compression stroke.

The flat of the distributor must point forward towards manifold. The rotor must be pointing to the #6 mark of the distributor housing; when distributor is fully seated against the block.



You may need to turn the oil pump drive shaft, with a screwdriver; so that the slot in the shaft will align with distributor’s oil pump drive tang.
