My Friend has a 2002 Malibu with a no start problem,( Battery is good) The fuel pump had went out so he replaced it now it will not start! he has plenty of fuel pressure to the V6, he states that when he attempts to start it a security light flashes on the dash, but the car does not have a security system. He's thinking he might have to bring it to the dealer to re flash program the computer. Any buddy have any thoughts on the problem??? Thanks SKI

If there is a security light flashing on the dash.... he has a security system...... Try pullling codes, sometimes an anti-theft code will show up in the PCM but usually you have to access the BCM and that takes a high end scanner.... You can try the 30 minute relearn to see if that will help...... Hook a charger up to the battery before starting. Put the key in the ign and turn it to the on/run position and let is stay there for at least ten minutes (it won't hurt going over a little bit on time but do not try to start one second before 10 minutes) then turn the key directly to the start position and see if it will crank & start up. If it doesn't turn the key all the way off and repeat the procedure, you may have to do this up to 3 times for it to work....

Glad to hear it worked for you. Just out of curiousity, how many times did it take before "it took"?
