2002 chevrolet suburban Sign In

my husband is trying to replace a key and tumbler on a 2002 suburban... any suggestions on how to remove the old assembly...the dealer said use a paper clip to push the lock down so it will slide out they also said to drill it out so he can access the lock both have not worked... any suggestions

Usually when you remove the tumbler you have to turn the key to the run or start position as you push in the lock pin with the paperclip. You want to disconnect the battery beforehand though. Try that and let us know how you made out.

this vehicle is a repo, that does not have the origanal key and tumbler from the best we can tell, because we had a new keys made from the vin on two seperate occasions from two seperate dealers. unfortunatly the original seller nor the lien holder whom the vehicle was repossessed for had extra keys to the vehicle...any suggestions... lock smith? are they capable of make a new key for the exsisting tumbler?

Yea I would suggest a locksmith, make sure you have the proper documentation to show you have legal ownership to the truck.
I would hate it if I were telling or helping a thief to get this thing going. LOL
