Got it street legal and did good for about 10 days , idle was always erratic between 1000 & 2000 , then you would stop somewhere and it wouldn't start , or maybe stall ,, holding foot to the floor seemed to help , or waiting 30 minutes ,cold starts were no problem and idle would stay at 1100 till you hit the gas and it would sit at 2000 , had 4 codes p0118 , p0113 , p0128 put a new thermostat in before getting plates , and p0128 (came up twice ) , I got the definitions written down , started up after reading and clearing codes , p0118 wouldn't clear , ran for about 10 minutes shut it down and read codes , p0128 only one still there , asking for a course of action please , those pizzas aren't going to deliver themselves

If you have a scan tool or code reader that can view data stream information what the engine coolant temperature?

Inspect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector and wiring. Could be a faulty sensor.

I have an OTC obd II & abs I'll check the instructions , coolant sensor makes sense , after 10 - 15 minutes of driving the temp needle wouldn't budge , Don't have the car here , as I remember there seemed to be two temp. sensors one at the thermostat housing and an upper by the head so I'l look at the lower one , it's a manual trans and they had a custom "fart can " intake plenum that had to go , got one from salvage yard but only put on the air filter can part and left the ram air part off , so far , thanks

Glad you found the cause of the problem. If you need assistance with your oil leak issue, please start a new question for that.
