2003 Alero

2003 Alero Sign In

I just changed my girlfreinds breakes in her Alero and everything work out fine, but now theres a werid sound coming from the brake padel. I look at the recalls for it and there was one for that year for that model for the same thing. dose any one know how to fix that sound. please help me. If not fixed I say hello to the couch. lmao

I had changed the brake pads and lubed a few things up. thats about it tom

You said this was a "sound" at the pedal?? If you just put pads in it the rotors might have had a rusty ridge that the new pads are now scraping off. If you pushed back pistons to make room for the new pads without opening the bleeder to let the excess fluid out then you pushed all the old fluid right back thru perhaps thousands of dollars worth of ABS items and they could be screwed up.

Go back and check your work and look for the hardware to be in place and if you twisted up the flex hose or something like that. You can't always get out of a repair so cheap. You will be on the couch if you messed up the ABS - trust me on that one!

Well thank you, so ill be on the couch tonite but first thing in the moring ill be checken out everything. thanks for the tip tom. but do you think the damage to the ABS is already done?

If ABS fails it should behave as non ABS brakes and an amber light should be on. It may be fine. Just avoid pushing back old fluid into the reservoir in the future,
