I have the above-referenced car with about 25,000 miles (yes, only 25,000). I inherited it from my dad and due to probate problems, I finally (after two years) got the title in my name. It hasn't been driven in about a year. I'm about to get it on the road and I noticed that the odometer, speedometer, fuel indicator, hot/cold indicator, and PRNDL thingies aren't working. Also, the radio and the remote door/trunk opener aren't working. It needs to be smogged and I know I have to drive it a while to let it get a few hot runs under it's belt. Could it be possible that the instrument problem will correct itself in time? Thanks ~ Snow

Have you checked to see if any fuses are blown? Seems like the dash power has been interrupted. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Next question... I don't have the owner's manual and can't find any info online as to the location of the fuse box. Hope there's a diagram on the cover

I/P fuse box behind right side of dash in right door opening (passenger side). See attachments. Under hood fuse box mounted on right side of engine compartment near strut tower. Loren SW Washington

Thanks Loren. I located fuse boxes and checked fuses. All looks good. I'm fearing the worst. I don't think I mentioned that the battery had been completely dead from sitting and needed to be charged. A jump wouldn't get it going. Could that have anything to do with it. Snow

SO, the car does not run? Believe the battery has been dead too long to accept a charge. Maybe start with a new battery.

chickenhouse, Sorry if my post wasn't clear. The battery needed to be charged. A simple jump would not get it going. The car runs like a top, and passed the smog test with flying colors. The only indicators I get on the dashboard are "check engine soon" when I start the car (it then goes out) and once in a while, the "Cruise" (control) light comes on... even when cruise control is off. I was just wondering if sitting for so long with a dead battery could have something to do with the dash indicators, etc., not working. I know they DID work because the car was driven from Florida to California. I appreciate everyone's patience and help. Snow

Do you folks have any suggestions as to what to check next? The car runs great, but it is difficult to determine fuel supply with odometer & gas gauge not working. And frustrating to have a non-functioning temp gauge, speedometer, radio, and remote door lock. Once again I ask, could the fact that it sat so long have anything to do with this? HELP!!! Snow
