there is gass leaking from my tank(?) when I have it at half a tank. It drains to about a 1/4 tank and then it stops. The car runs like a perfectly. Where could the leak be.

check the tank at the level where 1/4 tank would be; a leak may show around there. It would evaporate so look before the level reaches that low.

Do yopu see signs of gas leaking? Possible someone taking gas?

I have used JB Weld to fix holes in two gallon gas tanks; but they were small and easily accessible. Your gas tank may be difficult to work arpound unless ypou can remove it. Hopefully someone with exp[erience will provide more help than I can. Joel

You may have to take tank out to find just where it's leaking and how to fix. Is the tank rusty, damaged or has a in-tank fuel pump/gauge ever been done or tank removed for any reason you know of already.

Any hose, gasket, gauge, filler neck and area could be the problem. Rust if an issue means tank replacement, damage may or may not be practical to fix. You seem to know that it's really leaking and not being stolen on you so you really have to do whatever it takes to see the source of the leak which should leave evidence even when dry,
