My Maxima has died twice while driving it. The first time, after backing out of the driveway, it shut itself off and wouldn't take a jump. After charging it overnight, it started and I drove it home. On the way I took it to a parts store that tested the battery and alternator and said they were fine. The next time I drove it, when returning home, it made it about a block and it stalled and all the power went out (the key wouldn't come out, couldn't pop the trunk, etc.) The tow truck said it was the alternator, but someone else is insisting it's the battery. It's now sitting in my driveway. Any ideas?

That should be easy enough to determine through testing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
