The other day we had quite a large snow and freezing rain fall. The wipers were left on and when the car started they attempted to move but were frozen to the windshield. Now that they are loose they do not operate on any speed except high and will not return to their home position when switched off. Is there any easy solution to this problem? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Sounds like the retaining nuts came loose...design intent, that way if you turn them on and they are frozen or too much snow is on the windshield, you won't burn out a motor or pop a fuse... you should be able to access the nuts, probably have a cover/cap that needs to be removed for access...then just turn them to the off position, turn key off...move wiper arms to correct park position and tighten the nuts...
