2005 Hyundai Santa Fe IDLE PROBLEM

I have a 2005 Hyndai Santa Fe 2.7L, just recently purchased so I have no background on the vehicle other than it'd been sitting for a year. When the car is started cold or warm it would idle at 2000+ RPM, is throwing code p0420 and p0430. Removed IAC, brings idle down to 1500RPM. Vehicle runs really well without the IAC but goes into Limp Mode within 5 minutes down the road. I've put a spare (good) IAC on with no change in idle (still extremely high). Summarizing, the car runs and idles good without IAC, but go into limp mode quickly. Car with IAC slams into limp mode gears and idles super high. I have a TPS ordered but today i'm thinking that isn't the issue...any ideas?

Removed IAC? How exactly did you do that? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Something is missing here - POST ALL CODES.... MIght want to start with confirming - TB is allowing throttle plate to return to idle, cable binding, carbon etc. Check for vacuum leaks - you have a scanner or code reader?

Either the throttle plate is sticking, dirty or maladjusted or there is unmetered air getting into the system. You might try cleaning the throttle body first. . Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle.

The two codes listed were the only ones, however, they were listed multiple times. The TB isn't sticking, no binding, no vacuum leaks that I can detect. I'm using a code reader.

Yes I'm going to do that tomorrow. I had it all apart today and it didn't look overly dirty, but I'll do it for good measure. I'll update more tomorrow.

Cleaned the tb, idle issue seems even better. Still going into limp mode...rescanned for codes: P0700, P0715, P0122 Scanner says the mph= 20 with car in park. Ordered input and output speed sensor, and tps. Any idea if this will fix these issues?

The P0420 and P0430 are catalytic converter codes. Probably just that time for cats. A tricky vacuum leak on this car is a bad canister purge valve. The valve sticks open at idle when it should be closed.
