2006 ToyotaSequoia 2WD 4.7L 8cyl 175,000miles I replaced my lift gate latch and for some reason the red indicator light on the dash will not go off because the latch will not engage all the way. It locks and closes the lift gate no problem but then it needs to lock the latch further before the indicator light will turn off. Any one else had this issue after replacing the latch. This also prevents me from locking/unlocking my doors with the key-less remote. My latch is after market from eBay. Thanks for the help! Just notes for the moment: Pics are so big it's hard but at least something showed for this site HARD to do for me even. Basics: If the car/truck thinks this is open it's not going to lock or unlock anything else. IDK why you replaced this sorry if I missed why it was a problem in the first place? I will say these "creature features" of vehicles are cute when new or maybe second owner based on 4 years at a time this stuff will be all hell after that now it's twice that. For now double check wires to these items and where they connect and bend wire and connectors (cheap plastic) for years now is substandard IMO doesn't like so much as undoing it and reconnecting for another reason kinda was meant to be a one time deal now it's yours, T

It's pretty obvious that the latch is not completely locking for whatever reason. Something needs to be adjusted and you may have to improvise to get that done. This is why the body shop people make the money they do. You may not even have the right latch or just a bad Chinese copy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Pictures work fine. They just aren't any help determining your problem.
