2007 Altima rattles Sign In

2007
Nissan
Altima 6 cylinder

When in neutral, it idles okay, when I shift into drive, it starts shaking/rattling. When I accelerate, I can feel the transmission kick into gear. This happened after I got my oil changed, not immediately after. It has progressively gotten worse. Oil was changed in Feb. Issue appeared in april/may

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

The oil change could have something to do with this. Was the oil change done by a competent individual, or was it done at a shop that advertises a 10 minute oil change? The horror stories about these 10 minute oil change shops are endless. Many (not all) of the techs at these shops are in such a rush to do a ten minute oil change, that cars have been known to leave a 10 minute shop with:

No oil in the crankcase.
Less than the required 5-8 quarts of oil (depending on model) in the crankcase.
He wrong viscosity oil.
He wrong oil filter.

Start by confirming all the above. If those check out, then rule out broken engine or transmission mounts. Although rare other possibilities are engine vacuum leaks and misfires. Did you know that vacuum leaks cause misfires?

I would suggest a visit to the dealer and have them check the fluid level. On that car you have no means of checking it yourself and it requires a special fluid. The symptoms are typical of low fluid.

Could this just be a heat shield (for exhaust) that's broken and rattling? While cool if that tap on them or feel for rusted out spot welds that can make quite a rattle when they let go,
