2008 300C 5.7 Hemi

My son has a 2008 300C . He is having a problem with squeaking brakes. We have already replaced the pads with the top level Raybestos pads, and the dealership replaced the rotors. It always squeaks still. Does anyone know of a different product to eliminate the squeaks, it is very annoying.

you can put an anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads where they contact the caliper. Does help get rid of the noise most of the time.

A couple of very important things is cleaniness & free moving parts.... The slides on the calipers need to be lubed & free moving. The bracket needs to have new or cleaned hardware in it.... When you put the pad in, you should be able to freely move it back & forth. If you have to "force" the pad in & it's tight you're almost guaranteed a squeek. Both surface areas of the rotor and pad need to be clean. If the rotor has been turned, then it needs to be washed with soap & hot water (just take a paper towel & wipe the surface area of a rotor that was just turned, you'll see what I mean). If it's new the oil needs to be removed with brk clean. The surface area of the pad should never be touched under any circumstance. If it was and grease or dirt is on the area, it needs to be sanded off. The pad fricton material is like a sponge, if you use brk clean to try to clean the grease off, it doesn't remove it, it just pushes it into the pad where it will create problems later on. The brk fluid should be exchanged to help eliminate problems down the road. One of the many properties of brk fluid is to help lube the rubber parts in a system. Frt disc brks have a "roll back" design built into the piston o-ring. Basically what this does is after you release the pedal, it allows the piston to retract a few thousandths of an inch to get the pad surface area off the rotor. If it doesn't pull it back all the way, it most cases you wont feel the drag but it will overheat the pad and can cause noise & rapid wear. In more severe cases you'll feel the drag and in worst cases, it will lock the wheel up... Without following these basic steps it doesn't matter the quality of the parts used, the odds would be high on getting noise.
