2008 chevt aveo loss of power

when pushing to gas pedal there is loss of power like stopped up fuel filter or stopped up converter. computer code says running rich. 75,000 miles any help greatly appreciated

First thing i would check is filter, housing, inlet for air box, anything that can restrict airflow. If you suspect a cat problem you can remove the up stream O2 sensor and see if it runs better if you re-gain power you have a plugged converter. another test for converter plugging is done with a vacuum gauge. Connect the gauge to a source of intake vacuum on the intake manifold. Note the reading at idle, then raise and hold engine speed at 2,500. The needle will drop when you first open the throttle, but should then rise and stabilize. If the vacuum reading starts to drop, pressure may be backing up in the exhaust system. You can also get back pressure testers that plug into the O2 port. If you have all the DTC codes please list all the codes that are currently stored.
