2012 Nissan Altima Coupe HID Headlight Issue Sign In

My passengers side hid bulb recently went out. I purchased a new one, put it in, and it's still not working. I even took the other, working, drivers side bulb out and tried that on the passengers side to make sure the bulb was ok and it still did not work. I checked the fuses and they all looked good. Any other recommendations to find the issue? I hope I don't have to change the ballast since that seems a little difficult.

Thanks

IDK, this crap is AYOR and poor info on it except sell it?

By default guessing you wanted more light so I'll suggest putting it all back and see what burned out!

Do these use too much for wiring or came with credible specs, wattage used and so on. No they don't.

IDK already said that hope it didn't cost a catastrophe to the car it wasn't expecting to be messed with,

There are more components than a bulb for HID headlight systems.

They use a ballast and they are operated by a module.

Another common thing with HID lights is deterioration of the wiring within the headlamp capsule. The intense heat destroys the wiring.

You may be shocked at the cost of some of these components. I know a couple of makes that a complete headlamp capsule can cost over $5,000.

If that info came with this idea they wouldn't sell many, would they?

Rule #1 with cars newer than about 1972 - leave them alone and OE.

Hard lesson hope you can dig out of this nightmare back to OE find parts ruined now used maybe?

How do you know it's not OE?
Zenon lights were an option on this car.

Wasn't this working until you did this? Go back see if same issues are now still there.

Wire isn't like ancient stuff copper not this zinc crap is sacrificial metal when exposed to so much as water with anything in it unless distilled it's a failure of a product but cost is the issue.

Plastics stink once thought would last forever - guess again! All the plug ins, coating on wire is less than great, can't take heat or overloading.

IDK - you could use some help or ideas from in person techs IMO hate to default to that but it's damaged obviously finding out what and where to fix still unknown.

Bummer,

Tom
