Unsure
Does anyone know where the fuel filter is located on a 1985 Buick Riviera?
Also any ideas on diagnosis for engine stalling at stop lights (or any stopping). However has no problem starting or driving if you can get it past the initial start and into drive b4 it dies.

If this Riv. is an injected car the fuel filter is under the car attached to the fuel feed lines; if it’s still carburetor the filter is in the carb just behind the fuel inlet line.
As for why it’s stalling; well it would be like writing a novel trying to touch on all of the possibilities.
Take the car in and have someone diagnose it for you; ask for a written explanation. Then post back here with their findings before you authorize the repairs, maybe we can tell if what they find is feasible?

I would check the IAC ( idle air controll ) small silver size of a d cell battery --2 screws to remove ( poss tamper proof (( small tit in center )) screws ) if replaced will have to relearn ecm --drive above 35 mph warmed up ( closed loop ) also clean inside cav when iac is removed--remove air intake hose and take note of small slit in round tube ( throttle body ) before the buttterfly plate also slit on outher side of butterfly --have friend hold gas to floor to observe slits --clean with card spray cleaner and tooth brush..
