87 Cavalier, OverHeated, now it wont start.

it overheated only one other time which was a year ago, it started up and worked fine an hour later. But this time, when i attempt to start it, it turns, and sounds normal , but it wont catch. meaning when i turn the key, it makes the same turning sound it made before it overheated, except this time it doesnt fire up. could it be something fatal? thanks. =)

Just a guess here: The module inside distributor with wires at each end doesn't like getting hot. If you have spark that isn't the problem. There were a couple different ones of those used so if you want to try that make sure it's the right one. You still need to fix the overheating. Depending on how badly it overheated it could have caused more problems but if it still cranks it should be fixable, T
