My truck is an 87 F-150 4x4 with a 4.9L 6 cylinder engine with about 75,000 miles, and it will not start, it makes a buzzing sound under the hood when I turn the key, but nothing else. I have a new battery, changed the relay, changed the positive connection from the battery to the relay and checked the negative battery cable for any issues (did not find any). I had to tighten the ground wire down a little more, but it made no difference. I am at a loss for what to do next, my manual said to check the things I have already replaced, but no other instruction for follow-up. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Louis

sometimes cables for batteries can acctually corode on the inside of the wire so unless you stripped it you cant really be for sure you could try new cables to be sure. that happend to the dodge durango i have. GM ASEP 26 SCC Milford ASE certified in Brakes and Electrical on Thursday April 5th 2012

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that and the truck still did not start, so I took it to someone to diagnose the issue. Turns out the new starter I bought was no good, not only did it not spin, but it also did not pop out to engage the fly wheel. Got it running now, thanks to anyone that looked at this post and tried to help. I am sure I will be back when it breaks down again.
