I have an 88 linclon town car. When I start to put my foot on the gas to go in drive, my AC starts to blow air from the defost vents and the floor vents and barely blows through the dash vents. When I come to a stop the air comes out of the dash again. Any ideas for me? Thanks!

Look for a vacuum leak in the vacuum reservoir system. There is also a check valve in the system under the dash that could be bad allowing the doors to default. A leak in the vacuum system anywherwe can cause your problem. It is not as easy as pointing to a place and saying that is where the problem is. Good luck.

Oh ya! That "soup" can looking black thing on driver's inner fender underhood is a frequent problem with rust on the clips at bottom if rust is an issue with this car at all.

Any vac leak can cause that also as way2old said but that can is wicked common even when these weren't so old.

They can be removed (two 9mm nuts from inside wheel well which will breakMad) and you can patch the rust with something like Goop (TM) and paint it up.

If the rust battle is lost just plug that vacuum hose while you get another can. PM me if you can't find one,

T
