My 92 960 runs great when the engine is cold. The idle sounds good but once the car is warm it is physically shaking. If I want to keep it from shaking when at a stop I have to keep the idle at 1k rpm's instead of 800rpm. I am really hoping it is the engine mounts. Is there anything else it could be? The car has 165k miles on it and has been kept in great condition. This problem has only started recently and has been getting progressively worse.

You can visually check engine mounts with a qualified helper putting it in gear holding brake, wheels blocked and give it some power in place and watch (watch to the side not in front) for too much motion. There are other things it could be too. The engine senses cold, adds more fuel and adjusts to maintain the correct mixture for the temperature. Just general as I'm not a Volvo tech but it should have some sensor near thermostat of possibly a couple there. Sometime just how it plugs in is the problem?? T
