92 Dodge Shadow Intermittent Acceleration Problems

 Have intermittent problems with acceleration when I press on the gas peddle. Sometimes it accelerates smoothly, and other times it hesitates, decreasing in power, then increasing, then decreasing. Have gotten the fuel filter changed and also got a major tune-up done. None of this has helped to solve the problem. Any ideas or suggestions???

A fuel pressure test might show a problem. If intermittent it may take a while to catch it in the act. When a car has problems with accelleration about the only thing short of a dynomometer is to hold the brakes and pretend you are accererating but never let anyone stand in front of a car doing that!! T
