Could someone let me know how difficult it is to change the water pump on a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix?

It’s not to bad of a job for someone who’s mechanically inclined, an accountant or lets say a librarian may find it a bit challenging. It all depends on your own abilities.

It is a 3.1 but it wasn't the water pump. What was leaking was the pipe that runs under the coolant reservoir. I happened to see it spraying across to the engine block and then dripping down, that is why we thought it might be the water pump. We cut the pipe and put a hose with clamps on it and it has been great ever since.

This car is old and I only drive it in town mainly back and forth to my job which is 5 miles total. It used to be my parents' car. I do not want to spend a lot of money on it. The only reason I have it is so my son can have a car to drive also. I only need this car to last another 10-12 months so hopefully it will. Thanks for all the info. It has helped a lot.
