Tried to replacement a water pump on a 93 bonneville. The engine mount bracket covers one end of the water pump. I can't figure out how to remove the engine backet. I propped up the engine with a floor jack and 2x4. I think I can do it if there's a way to separate the rubber vibration part of the bracket from the part that's mounted to the frame. I took the bolt that goes through the bracket and rubber piece. There's a metel bushing/sleeve that goes through the round rubber piece that I can't remove. I can't separate the rubber piece from the engine mount bracket. ??

This car should have a 3.8 engine which you didn't state but I think that was the only engine available. If you need to remove a motor mount make sure you have friends and pry bars to get that last bolt back in.

It's whacked but some 3.1s I did in folks driveways as they were so easy and didn't need to come to my shop. Yes I do road calls, T

The frame portion and the rubber mount need to be removed as a unit. The bolts that hold the frame bracket to the frame like to seize but are of a far size and can be forced a bit. Once you get them moving; work them a bit applying penetrating oil. If it wasn’t for this part of the job it would be a snap to do but I guess the engineers had their reasoning???
