93' Tercel stuttering and loosing power. Sign In

I have a 93' Toyota Tercel that stutters and losses power during lower RPMs in 2nd and 3rd gear. It only occasionally does this and seems to do it more frequently and sever in 2nd gear.

When it does do it, it does it for a few seconds and then it starts reeving up and accelerating normally.

Any idea what the issue might be?

Is the engine light on or flashing?

No. And temp looks fine. I only use this car for short drives, normally only 5-10 minutes at a time.

You might want to check the fuel filter dude, I had that problem with my 91 Nissan. Took it to a dealer and he said it was the fuel filter. I told him I had just changed it, he said sometimes they don't always work, promised no charge if a new filter did not do the work ..........And it did!!!!! Like a $25.00 fix. Hope it will work for you. Otherwise it would be your wiring. Start it up at night aqnd lift the hood, if you see a bunch of sparks you need new wiring!!!
