hi all newbie here, and thanx for all of you that make this forum what it is. a god send. bringing a 94 isuzu rodeo out of the barn for the first time in 6 years, fluids all drained, flushed and changed. new fuel pump an filter with 45+psi. it will start with carb cleaner shot into the throttlebody, took the fuelrail off, injectors an pressure regulator all plugged with dried fuel deposites, cleaned the rail, the injectors, replaced the regulator. the now cleaned injectors when immersed in solvent and triggered with 9vdc will show the action of the pintle with vibration rings at the inlet end of the injector at surface of the solvent. using 45psi air on the injector tip forcing carb cleaner backward thru the injector there is a spray out thru the rail end, once flushed and dried in that fashion i can hear a nice sharp metalic sound when i trigger each injector near my ear, a couple needed more soaking and flushing to get the sound sharp, not sluggish. these are the short fat gm style injectors. question~ will these injectors come back to life or are they toast? next issue, with a spark indicator on top of the gm style coilpack, it appeared to loose fire after a short run on carb cleaner in the throttlebody about the same time the fake fuel ran out. i will retest that an repost, question~ is there an ignition shut down in the run position like from the engine oil pressure sender?

You might be able to make some progress using a pressure cleaning but they are most likely beyond hope. They have to be cleaned from the inside out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

hey thankyou hammertime ok kewl. even that glimmer of hope is a beacon of light right now whats yer thoughts on the occasional loss of spark? one thought i had was a bad ground somewhere on the harness/ ignition circuit.... what i did not mention in the first post was that about 4" of carb cleaner in a plastic tube was gravity fed thru the rail end an dribbled as i triggered the injector sweeping the contact rapidly across the 9vdc power source, when about 1/4" had collected on the nozzle end tube i blew it backwards thru the injector. granted it was totaly redneck but it was what i had. it will probably be tomorrow before i can get back to that project. any an all thots are welcome thanx msj113

Not sure on oil pressure switch shutting down spark? But, oil pressure should still be OK if it ran long enough forcing it as you did with new oil. Fuel! Yikes. I'm told there are over 200 formulations and assorted % of ethanol depending on location AND time of year. As HT said cleaning fuel crap (the additives do that not pure gas which doesn't exist) is from the inside. Some luck with extremes with SeaFoam products. Perhaps PB as a cleaner on spot items then cleared. Chevron's Techron is or was used by some thru a force feed MotoVac (Snap-On machine) for cleaning injectors and never owned one so can't expound too much on the ability for this. If this thing was kept dry at least you'll get it going. Maybe some surprises from seals especially ones sealing things that rotate with use ---- driveshafts, water pump seals, PS pump and so on. Expect some odd stuff. If this was out in the weather all that time it would probably be a lost cause by now, T
