95 Astro van rear hatch problem. Sign In

I recently inherited a 95 Astro van, and while cleaning the interior and fixing a few things, I found the rear hatch won't open. It won't open by the switch in the front, or by using the key. No sound is produced when I do either. Any help?

If the key can turn - try pushing and pulling on the door. When you (hopefully ) get it open spray WD-40 the daylights into all the latching mechanisms. You can test them without closing the door/hatch. If need be when open remove panels so you can really target them with spray.

Some power locks when the motor fails prevents a key from working. If all fails - I suggest an auto body repair shop for help with this as they are good at this stuff and you dont need any damage to get it working. Hope this works,
