'95 Cavalier Power window

Could anyone tell me how to remove the power window regulator assembly and install a new one without losing a finger or two. I have removed all the rivits, and the unit is lose, I've stabilized the window in the up position, but it will not come out. Without being able to see behind the panel I fear I will damage something or get my hand trapped in there and have to get the fire department to cut off the door and remove my hand. In which case I'll be needing a new door, and maybe a hand. Any advise or diagram would be greatly appriciated.

Wish I could REALLY help you with this one. And your right! - You can get cut or caught if the spring lets go!
I would have to see this one in front of me. Suggest you let a Auto Body Repair shop take a look as they do have to do a lot of transferring of the stuff to new doors. Stay safe with this one, your concerns are real! Good luck,
