96 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE NON-TURBO 4CYL 2.0 5 SPEED My check engine came on the other day so i had the diagnostics ran, and the code said bad egr valve. I opened the hood to inspect further and i saw that the vaccum hosw off the egr seloniod was melted in half so i replased the hose and now the car has started to (beast idle) sparatic up and down idle. would it be better to leave the egr vaccum hose disconnected and stoped up? Is the idling a bad thing some cars with racing cams installed are made to do this, however im not sure if thats what it is i doubt it. HELP PLEASE

OK, first off, the code did not mean a bad EGR valve. It indicates an EGR malfunction that needs to be diagnosed correctly. The reason it started running like that is likely because the EGR is staying open all the time for some reason that still has to be determined. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
