i have a 97 voyager with a 3.3 engine .if it sits parked a long time like overnite when i try to start it it will crank well but not start-i retry it cranks longer ,tries to start but doesn't.you can hear a backfire sound in the air cleaner-third try engine will start and run fine the rest of the day.one note: when cold before attemting to start it,i checked for fuel at fuel rail port.none, after first crank fuel is present...i think maybe its the fuel pump.i do know fuel regulator can cause this same concern.i know its part of the fuel pump/sender assy.took to local shop-they checked fuel pressure -it was ok at 55psi.they want to sell me a tune up-i don't think this will solve problem.just will waste money....am i on the right track????help
