'98 Buick Regal GS repair Sign In

I've got a '98 Buick Regal GS, 3.8L V6, with 150k miles. The supercharger seems to be going bad (bearings?), it makes a fluttering sound when running. Can I run the engine w/o the supercharger and not damage it? Also I have what appears to be intake manifold gasket failure: Leaking coolant and engine oil. I guess it could be the head gasket as well, what's the difference? What can I expect to rightly pay for this repair? Can a relative novice do this repair themselves with tools and a shop manual?

Thanks for the advice, great site!
