98 Chevy Metro stalling Sign In

I have a 98 Chevy Metro and it keeps stalling.

Stalls intermitently when shift from park to drive and reverse to neutral.

Also stalls when you come to a stop.

I have had two different people try to scan it with no results.

There is only 30,000 miles on this car and it is in mint shape.

I really dont want to get another car, but I am not finding anyone that knows what is wrong with it.

Please help me

Not every problem will show up on a scan. Does this run well once you are going along? Is the idle too low? You should check for the easy stuff like vacuum leaks or anything that might be unplugged by accident or something like that first.

You shouldn't have to get another car over something like this,

The car runs fin when its moving. Its when you apply the brakes to stop and when you move the shifter from R to N, or D to N.

If just hitting the brakes makes a difference than the brake booster or check valve would be the likely problem. This car should use a vacuum boost for power brakes. That problem would show up without the shifting if you just kept hitting the brake pedal,
